Me

My name, Samuli Sorvakko, is certainly already known to the reader. The purpose of these pages is to reveal something about the person behind that name.

As the story goes, I came to this world in May 1980, so I've been walking on this earth for some years already (probably mostly stumbled in the first couple of years..). My life, and thoughts, have of course been influenced by the many people, things and occurrences in that time.

At this moment I'm enjoying what many people say is the best time in one's entire life, studying. The Helsinki University of Technology irresistibly lured the technology-obsessed me and, after a couple of years of banging my head against the entrance exams, I finally officially entered the Computer Science department, my original destination in the university, in 2002. (I was in another department for the first two years). The goal of my studies is not to graduate quickly. Instead, I'm planning comprehensive studies in the areas of computer networks and embedded systems. This most probably means that I can be found in the corridors of the CS building for many years to come.

It is good to note both external and internal qualities when describing a person. I'll leave describing my external qualities to a better qualified person, but the main driving force in my life is easily described. I firmly believe in Jesus Christ, my savior. In layman's terms, I am a Christian.
